Park Pharmacy Technician II
Salary Grade:113
Location:Nashville TN
FT/PT Status:Regular Full Time
Days:Monday - Friday

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
The Pharmacy Level II is responsible for prescription filling, customer service, and basic order entry functions to meet customer demands in compliance with URAC and other regulatory agencies.

• Fills prescriptions; utilizing bar code scan, correct quantity, and verifying proper labels.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Processes refills/IVR, answers phone calls, and waits on patients.
• Assists with monthly inventory and identifies/processes out of date medications.
• Reconciles daily order to packing slip and identifies discrepancies.
• Process daily order.
• Checks out walk up patients in accordance with state pharmacy and DEA laws.
• Processes packages for shipping to patients.
• Transcribes information from e-scribe to pharmacy processing system.
• Reviews and updates training manual.
• Completes processing of all escribes, e-link, reminders, and faxed prescriptions.
• Updates and completes pending orders.
• Documents specialty scripts for processing by pharmacists.
• References resources of specific dosing parameters when not included on the initial script – i.e. take with/without food.
• Decipher weight based script to single or multiple script based on availability of capsule/tablet strengths.
• Processes claims requiring prior authorizations, commercial copay card, Medicare part B medications, Medicare part B supplements, and copay assistance.
• Benefit verification for all insurance types including commercial, Tri-care, Medicare B and D, and supplemental plans. Trouble shoots failures to process.
• Participate in Quality Assurance meetings as needed
• As needed participate in Clinical Oversight Committee to develop Quality Improvement Plan
• Participate in Quality Improvement Plan meetings as needed
• Assists in collection of MTM oncolytic cycle information when scheduling medication orders

• Skill in data entry, and basic computer usage.
• Knowledge of denial codes to be able to contact plans, state issue and work with them to resolution.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to break down complex issues.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum 2 years retail experience in high volume fast paced location or 1 year experience in Specialty Pharmacy environment.
